How to shed the energy of 2016 in 5 easy steps

How to shed the energy of 2016

I don’t know about you but 2016 has been quite a year for me. In fact, I have never burned as many uncrossing candles, used as much epsom salt in my baths or sprayed Good Vibes Aura Spray around me as much as I did in this year. There were months that I spent in crisis at the hospital and desperately went into blackmailing God in my prayers (If you don’t help us with this…) just so seconds later I would sweet-talk (Please, please, please...). I had to take things a lot slower than I am used to, managing life on very little sleep and different time zones, and at times it felt like my own life was delayed. If there’s one major thing that 2016 did teach me, it’s loving my self in times of crisis and taking good care of me when life hits me hard.

Needless to say: I am SO ready to move to 2017!

However, I really don’t want to take the 2016 energy with me into the new. It’s definitely time to shed the energy of 2016 off the old, shed the past and start the new year with clean, fresh and free energy. If you want to join me I recommend doing this ritual on the 31st in the morning. Take some time out for yourself and reconnect to your body to let go off all the old sh*t you don’t need anymore! Here’e 5 easy steps on how to do it.

To shed the energy of 2016 you’ll need:

  • Dry Brush
  • Healing Crystals
  • Organic Sea Salt
  • Rose Oil
  • Stick of Palo Santo

Step one: Dry-Brush

Begin the ritual by dry-brushing your naked body and get your blood warmed up. You can use a loofah or round body brush (look for long, natural bristles) for this. Start at your feet with soft pressure and work yourself up slowly towards your heart while brushing your skin in circular motions. Dry brushing removes dead skin, eliminates clogged pores and leaves you with an energy boost.

Step Two: Crystal Healing Bath

Crystal Healing baths are a great way to relax and take advantage of a stone’s healing properties. You can get creative with your baths and invite some of your favorite gemstones in with you as well as some drops of lavender or rose oil. If you don’t have a tub, use a big bowl and do a foot bath with crystals, it will do the job as well. Depending on your stress level and year you had I recommend using

  • Rose Quartz and Amethyst to be with a heart wide open
  • Citrine for more mental stability and to speed up growth processes
  • Smoky Quartz to help you feel more grounded overall

Fill your tub with warm water and gently put the crystals in you chose for yourself. Stay in the Crystal Bath for maximum 20 minutes, breath, relax, and let the crystals do their work.

Step Three: Sea Salt Peeling

Take some organic Sea Salt and use it to softly scrub over your skin, under your armpits (that’s where a lot of energy gets stuck over the day) and around the hollows of your knee (same here). Using a Sea Salt Peeling is an easy way to cleanse your aura of negative energy , as well as helping to eliminate toxins from your body. Also use a small amount to put on the top of your head and leave it there for maximum 1 minute to clear your crown chakra. Shower off all the sea salt and watch the old energy leave through the drain.

Step Four: Oil up

After the bath use a rich rose oil to prime your body and massage the oil into your wet skin gently. Take some time to let the skin absorb the oil and take off the rest with a towel.

Step Five: Bless with Incense

With your cleaned up body and energy it is time to bless the new. Use a candle or lighter to ignite a stick of Palo Santo.  Hold at about a 45 degree angle and allow it to burn for about 30 secs and then blow out.  Move the stick around your body for clearing the energy and calling in good spirits. The rich smell will help you relax and soften. When finished, place the stick in a fireproof bowl.

You officially are all ready for 2017!

Enjoy the ritual and have a happy new year!
